The Whitby Warmer handwarmer is a safe, flameless way to keep your cold hands (or anything else) warm on a chilly day.
Simply fill it with lighter fuel (using the filing spout provided), light it, replace the cap, and keep it in its pouch. It'll stay warm for up to 12 hours, and can be re-used about 90 times before needing a refill.
It's a great hand warmer, and also good to throw into your sleeping bag on a cold night's camping.

Stayed warm for 12 hours
Take some time for the first couple of burns, persevere with it and as somebody suggested take the top part off and put a few drops of fuel in the top & the underside of the element. Toasty warm!
Cheap to purchase and relativtively cheap to run these are excellent items for keeping my hands warm on the bank whilst fishing. I followed the instructions on the leaflet and within minutes both warmers were up and running. These are so easy to light and use that even as oaf could use them. Can’t understand why a few people are having problems lighting them,believe me it’s simple!! Would recommend wholeheartedly
Bought two for my wife, they can be a bit of a pain to light for the first couple of times (put extra fluid in) I put a couple of drops of fluid on the burner when I light them then leave the flame die away before fitting the cover. So good I bought another two for myself!
Had 2 of these, bought the lighter fluid suggested and neither would light Total rubbish don't waste your money on this.
I've read the reviews about this and decided to get one for watching football and fishing
Filled it up first time and then left it on its side for about an hour then lit it using kitchen matches wait for the smoke then it's off ,burned for about 6hours no problem
Bought this a few months back when on offer for 13 pounds, got to use it just before Christmas for the first time.
As other's have said the first few times you use it it takes a LOT of fuel. Mine took 4 '6 hour' fills before it would actually light, then lasted for about 4 hours.
The second time it took half way between 6 and 12 hour fill lines.
Today it was just slightly over the 6 hour mark and it has been running for 6 hours as I type.
I think the wadding needs to be conditioned before you get full burn times.
It gets *VERY* warm indeed - NOTE:: You MUST use the supplied case or it WILL burn you!!!
I'm over the moon with mine and coupled with lighter fluid from Poundland running costs work out quite cheap.

Whitby were great to deal with but product would not stay lit for more than 1 hour and bought two plus tried new burners sent from manufacturer
Go outdoors opted to not replace as I had taken out of box and not retained my receipt
Bought two of these, one of them I managed to light on the second day, but after another 4 attempts gave up, the other I could get to light at all, after using a whole lighter full of fuel I've decided to try and return them.
I bought this a few days ago, it works great, if taken out of its pouch it is too hot to handle! I have refilled when it is burning with no issues.

Excellent product I suffer from arthritis in my hands and spend a small fortune buying gloves this year for walking the dog but my hands were always freezing. I use a mobility scooter to walk the dog so maybe if I was walking these -10 degree rated loves would be okay. However I found that a reasonable cheap pair of Thinsulate gloves large enough to slip the Whitby hand warmer into either on the palm or on top are excellent. Cheap to run and very effective much better than battery operated hit or miss gloves online. These really work just get a pair of waterproof gloves that accommodate the warmers.
This is a very simple device, a metal can with some type of wool to absorb the fuel and a wick.
There's nothing really to go wrong and they're not at all difficult to light.
Fill reservoir with lighter fluid.
Put a few drops of fluid onto the wick/burner.
Light.
Wait a few seconds for the flame to subside.
When flame seems to disappear, replace the metal top/lid.
Done.
First go or two will last approx 3 hours, but subsequent burns will last the full 12 hours.

Absolutely cracking hand warmer! I suffer very badly with cold hands and feet even just sitting in the house so out and about when it's colder can be quite unpleasant but this makes it much more bearable.
Once filled and lit it takes a short while to get warm and after half an hour or so it's really toasty - you definitely need the fleecy pouch to avoid getting burnt. Filling was easy once I'd realised I needed to snip the end off the little spout. I couldn't easily tell if it was lit until I felt it getting warm as there is no flame but holding a lighter in place for a few seconds seemed to do the trick,
I would highly recommend this hand warmer and I will get very good use out of mine. I think it would even make a good little sleeping bag or bed warmer for really chilly nights.
The first 2 I bought wouldn't light at all. My Arctic expedition was the following morning so I went to the store and had to try 6 more before I found one that worked! I was 30 mins at the till trying to get 2 that would light
Once you get them lit, they take about 10-15 mins to warm up. Once warm, they are really great and stay warm for ages. Best to use decent fuel.
It gets very warm it lasts long time and perfect for keeping your hands warm when I walk the dog.
Use mine for fishing. Keeps my hands nice and warm. Cheap to run. You can get lighter fuel for £1 a tin. Get about 10 fills out of it. Works out a less than a penny a hour.

Once lit they are great, but can be difficult to light. Check youtube for info.
The burner should be a tight fit, mine was loose.
nb insert the filler into the bung, it is split so no need to remove
